Sean Carroll is a Partner at Polachi, the leading provider of Access Executive Search™ services to technology, clean tech, venture capital and private equity clients. Sean brings a wealth of experience with large and boutique executive search firms in addition to his experience as the head of human capital for a reputable venture investor. Sean spearheads Polachi’s search practice in the greater New York City market working with clients in the software and digital media sectors.

Sean began his recruiting career in 1995 when he ran the Philadelphia office for System One Technical, a technology staffing firm that was acquired by TMP Worldwide. He successfully transitioned to the retained executive search business with Howard Fischer Associates then Heidrick & Struggles where he focused on searches with venture-backed software and Internet companies. From 2001 to 2006, Sean led the human capital efforts for the venture arm of Pequot Capital advising Boards and management teams for more than 50 technology and healthcare investments. Most recently, Sean was a Managing Partner and part owner of Barlow Group, a Connecticut-based boutique retained executive search firm that focused on recruiting CEO’s and their direct reports for early and growth stage companies in the software, digital media and mobile sectors. Sean has partnered with venture investors such as, DFJ Gotham, FirstMark Capital, Greycroft and Matrix Partners.

Prior to his executive search career, Sean was an officer and Maritime Patrol Pilot in the U.S. Navy. He achieved the designations of Mission Commander & Instructor Pilot and deployed twice to the Middle East in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

Sean holds a Bachelor's degree in Oceanography from the U.S. Naval Academy.
